TGS 2008: Phantasy Star Zero is Portable, also Online

You can't keep Sega down. Only months after the huge reception of Phantasy Star Portable, they're back at it with a new Phantasy Star MMO on Nintendo DS, Phantasy Star Zero. But maybe you've been worried. I mean, how can something as small and ancient as the Nintendo DS really handle something as massive and multiplayer as Phantasy Star online?

Perhaps this gameplay trailer will put your mind at ease.

So Phantasy Star Portable on the PSP only has local ad hoc multiplayer, but Zero is actually an MMO, is that right?

To be honest, I don't know much about Phantasy Star Portable. I didn't really follow it very closely. I can look into it if you're really interested.

However, PS0 (or PSZ, whichever you like) is an actual MMO along the lines of the older Phantasy Star Online games (DreamCast, GameCube, Xbox). I don't think it even has a single player campaign.
