Not TGS 2008: Nintendo's Press Conference

Hey yo, everyone got your TGS Bingo cards ready? Here come the first wave of announcements.

Nintendo kicked off their Not-TGS Presser late last night (or early this morning if you live in Japan), and though the majority of it was focused on the new DS model (called the Nintendo DSi), there were several RPGs shown off, both new and old, and for both Wii and DS. Here's the breakdown:

(Whew) There's a lot of content there. Most of it is nothing new, but there were a few surprises. At the moment, we have no real information regarding Knight of Argoth, Dynamic Slash, or Tact of Magic, so they may turn out not to be true RPGs, in which case we will discontinue coverage of them.

EDIT: Whoops! Found out that Knight of Argoth has already been announced over here as Rygar: The Battle of Argus, and it is apparently an action-adventure title. Sorry about that.

You may also be interested to know that Nintendo reiterated what Namco Bandai said at their summer Tales of presser that the next Tales of main series title will be on Nintendo Wii, though no official name, release date, or details of any kind were presented, so I can't count this as a "new" announcement until at least a name and approximate release is revealed.

Note that all the release dates listed here are confirmed as the Japanese releases only. No dates were given for North American or European releases.
