Square Enix Melds DS and Wii into One

Have you ever picked up your DS and thought to yourself, "Self, I wish my Wii games looked as crappy as my DS games."? Well, if you have, your moment has arrived at last.

Via the latest issue of Jump, Square Enix has announced Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time (which is like a really really long name), a Nintendo DS/Nintendo Wii cross-platform title.

As with many of the previous Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles titles, Echoes of Time will be heavily focused on co-op play with multiple friends, making use of the DS and Wii's Wi-Fi capabilities.

The Wii version will allow players to import at least part of their Miis into the game to use with on their characters. Apparently, players will also be able to load these Mii characters onto their DS. Details are a little sparse at the moment, but it appears that both versions of the game will use the same graphics engine, and essentially be the same exact game, allowing players to connect with each other regardless of which system they are playing on.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time will be available in Japan on January 29, 2009, becoming the first RPG to get a solid 2009 release date. There is no word on a North American or European release at this time.

I would take translation requests for this, but I've basically already told you everything mentioned in the article (it's quite short).
