Undiscovering Infinite Undiscovery's Characters

Despite my overwhelming and undying love of everything tri-Ace, I have heinously shirked my responsibility to hyping their upcoming Xbox 360 exclusive, Infinite Undiscovery. Well, no more!

Here I present to you an overview of all of the currently announced characters, as well as an epic gameplay trailer, and I beseech you with every fiber of my being to not let this crazy awesome game slip under your radar!

Capell (17)
IU's protagonist, Capell is a kind-hearted young man with a distaste for violence. He is a self proclaimed performing artist, and goes by the title of "Healing Flutist Capell." He bears an uncanny resemblence to the Hero of Light, Sigmund, and is captured by the Sealed Army because of it. However, he is rescued by Aya for this same reason, and ends up working with her. Though he has no previous experience with swordplay, he takes to it incredibly quickly. His similarity in appearance to Sigmund, his quick adaptation to fighting skills, and the fact that he bears no glyph shroud this seemingly simple young man in mystery...

Aya (16)
A member of the Liberation Forces, Aya had previously been traveling with Sigmund. Upon receiving misinformation claiming that Sigmund had been captured, she ends up freeing Capell from the Sealed Army.
Though she seems like she would be an average young woman, Aya is very active and opinionated, always trying her best to do what she believes in. However, she also has several inner fears and weaknesses, but tries hard to keep them hidden.
She begins to be drawn to Capell for some reason after freeing him...
Aya wields a bow and arrow in battle.

Sigmund (17)
Being the only human alive capable of breaking the chains that bind the Moon, Sigmund has risen up against the Sealed Army. Out of respect for what he is trying to do, people have come to call him the Hero of Light (NOTE: it looks like he will be called Sigmund the Liberator in the English version).
Though he looks almost identical to Capell, their personalities are completely different. Sigmund tends to distance himself from others, and offers few words to those he encounters. Due to his mission, he has come to view his own life and existence as nothing more than tools to accomplish his task.
He wields a sword in battle.

Eduardo (17)
A member of the Liberation Forces, Eduardo strongly looks up to Sigmund, and often acts in whatever way he thinks will earn Sigmund's respect back. He is generally cool and collected, but when he does get angry, he becomes uncontrollable.
Driven by his ideals, Eduardo is often blind to the other circumstances around him. This tendency, coupled with Capell's position of trust with Sigmund, leads to many conflicts between the two (Capell and Eduardo, that is).
He wields a giant, two-handed sword in battle.

Luka (10)
The brother of the set of twins from Montana Village, Luka is famous for being a child prodigy. In reality, he is quite the prankster, and is almost always found collaborating with his sister Roka.
His incredibly smart, but still has a child's lack of restraint in word and action. Thus, his speech is often interpreted by adults as deeply biting sarcasm.

Roka (10)
The sister of the set of famous prodigy twins from Montana Village, her personality description is the same as her brother Luka's.

Mirche (21)
The sexy older sister type, Mirche is blessed with the powers of healing magic, though she believes her own power to be useless.
She is a bit off from the pace of those around her, and prefers to do things in her own way and time. She is a spontaneous person (NOTE: this part of the translation is a little tricky, as it could also mean she is something of an airhead).
She has a strange affection for tea, and is never without her own personal tea set, even on the battlefield.
Mirche appears to fight with books.

Eugene (26)
The successor to a great merchant, Eugene is also a long time acquaintance of Sigmund.
Never without a smile, he is kind to everyone he interacts with. However, on the flip side of his "everyone's friend" exterior, he occasionally has quite vicious thoughts.
He is always seen carrying an enormous backpack, but no one knows exactly what is inside of it.
Eugene seems to fight with a staff, and his official profile describes his class as a monk.

Leonid (??)
The man who chained the Moon, he has come to be known as the Dark Noble, and is the personification of people's hatred and fear.
He created the Sealed Army in order to gather the power of the Moon, and plans to achieve godhood through that power.

Balbagan (35)
He once challenged Sigmund to a fight but was defeated, and currently fights along side him in order to eventually gain chance to challenge him again.
Basically a good-natured man, Balbagan can usually be found either eating or sleeping. However, on the battlefield, he willingly puts himself on the front line, wielding a huge battleaxe.
Balbagan tries to view the world as simply as possible, believing that thinking is other people's responsibility, and fighting is his.

Gustav (??)
A bear that Aya has kept since she was little, Gustav is an extremely rare species known as a Crimson Bear. He was once considered to be too wild to tame, and it was often said that he would never be able to grow close to people. Though he is now very fond of Aya, he still does not take well to her companions, and is especially wary of Capell, often ending up biting him.

As usual with my translations, note that they are my take on the original Japanese and may inevitably differ in the official translation.

Below is embedded the first gameplay demonstration from the recent Japan Xbox 360 RPG Event. Check it out, as the seamless gameplay looks incredible.

Infinite Undiscovery is set to release worldwide in (very) early September from tri-Ace and Square Enix on Xbox 360.

With so many high quality RPGs on their way this fall, it's hard for me to keep track of everything, but Infinite Undiscovery looks like a winner to me, and I will be placing my pre-order sooner than later.

What's your take? Do want?
