Sega Brings Dragons to Famitsu

With RPGs coming out of their ears lately (World Destruction, Shining Force Feather, Phantasy Star 0, Golden Axe: Beast Rider, and Alpha Protocol, just to name a few), it is slightly surprising to see that Sega are prepping to announce yet another RPG next week via Famitsu.

The teased game currently has no revealed title or details, simply a teaser site featuring pink flowers and a dragon cut-out, along with the words "We are making RPG now!" which is like, some kind of awesome statement in and of itself.

The game is reportedly being headed up by Rieko Kodama as producer (most recently notable for her work on Skies of Arcadia), with Kazuya Niino and Yuuzou Koshiro of Etrian Odyssey prestige (the director and sound composer, respectively), and Mota as character designer (I'm not sure what else he/she has worked on in the past, but his/her personal site's artwork displays a good amount of pixel artwork).

Based on the DS-centric director and composer, Mota's other works, the teaser pic he has up on his site (which shows a bunch of characters playing a Genesis), and the extremely old school music loop on Sega's teaser site, my gut says the game will be a "neo-retro" game, most likely for Nintendo DS.

The game will be revealed on September 26, 2008.
