RPGs of the Week: The PC Strikes Back Edition

Though console gaming has definitely taken center stage in video gaming over the last decade or so, the PC comes out swinging this week with a hefty lineup of RPGs for North America and Europe. Take a look at what's hitting shelves this week (September 15-20, 2008).

North America
Battle Fantasia – Arc System Works, Aksys – Xbox 360
Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen – ArtePiazza, Square Enix – Nintendo DS
LaTale – Actoz Soft, OGPlanet – PC
Mount & Blade – Taleworlds, Paradox Interactive – PC
Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning – EA – PC
The Witcher (Enhanced Edition) – CD Projekt Red Studio, Atari – PC
Yggrda Union – Sting, Atlus – PSP

Japan
Trusty Bell: Chopin no Yume Reprise – Tri-Crescendo, Namco Bandai – PlayStation 3

Europe
Lineage II: The Chaotic Throne – The Kamael – Ncsoft – PC
Mount & Blade – Taleworlds, Paradox Interactive – PC
The Witcher (Enhanced Edition) – CD Projekt Red Studio, Atari – PC
Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning – EA – PC

The biggest name this week is probably the Dragon Quest IV remake for Nintendo DS finally hitting North American retailers, straggling well-behind its Japanese and European counterparts.

LaTale, a Lineage II expansion, and Warhammer Online bring the MMO love for those of you into that, while more traditionalists should be interested in Mount & Blade, and perhaps the re-release of Atari's The Witcher.

Fans of obscurity will likely take well to the PSP port of Yggdra Union and the North American debut of Arc System Works' fighter-RPG hybrid for Xbox 360.

Japan feels a little left out this week with nothing but the PS3 port of last year's Eternal Sonata.

Anything looking sweet to you this week?
