Watch the Fragile Opening

Tri-Crescendo and Namco Bandai's Fragile: Sayonara Tsuki no Haikyo went on sale yesterday in Japan. Though there is no confirmation of an English release, the game remains one of my most anticipated titles this year.

Gamekyo has been kind enough to rip the opening sequence of the game, featuring the game's theme song by Aoi Teshima, Hikari.

Watch it below.

Thoughts?

If I had to guess, I would say that Namdai (or possibly Nintendo) doesn't believe that a "hardcore" game with a "niche" art style and a decidedly Japanesey-feeling theme would appeal to the 5 year olds, soccer moms, and senior citizens that are the Wii's perceived target demographic.

AND it's an unestablished franchise. AND it uses a lot of Japan-specific references.

Just my guess. Either way, bringing it over would be a rather large gamble.

Too bad. It looks incredible.
