Blood of Bahamut gets a Release Date, New Trailer

Though the game is still not confirmed for North America, Square Enix's upcoming Shadow of the Colossus-reminiscent action-RPG, Blood of Bahamut, has just been dated for late this summer in Japan.

Featuring enormous 3D bosses and small character sprites, this game's draw appears to be fighting these enormous creatures that span both screens of Nintendo's little portable that could.

Along with the release date, Square Enix has also dropped off a new trailer for the title, which gives perhaps the best look at the overall feel of the title so far.

Check it out below:

Blood of Bahamut will be available on Nintendo DS on August 6, 2009 in Japan.

Blood of Bahamut Trailer is Made of DS

Square Enix has recently released a new trailer for their upcoming DS action-RPG, Blood of Bahamut, which you can watch below.

Or not, whatever.

The game definitely has a Shadow of the Colossus feel about it. Though I'm curious if the entire game is only your characters fighting giant, DS 3D monsters from different ledges. If so, um, that seems a little boring.

Blood of Bahamut has yet to receive a release date.

More Dragons and DS Follow with Blood of Bahamut Trailer

Today seems to be the dragon + DS trailer day, and the action doesn't stop with a new Blood of Bahamut trailer from Square Enix. The trailer in question gives you a very thorough look at what the game will look like in motion. If you are in love with DS graphics, this should be your early Christmas present.

Take a look.

Blood of Bahamut has yet to receive an official release date.

Blood of Bahamut Debut Trailer Debuts

The mysterious Bahamut countdown put up by Square Enix last week was of course revealed to be another DS title, Blood of Bahamut. And though it's nice to see Square Enix branch out and try new ideas that don't have Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest somewhere in the title, the fact that the game is on DS instead of a console again is a little disappointing (if not totally predictable).

Well, Square Enix wants you to know that they don't give a crap that the market is oversaturated with DS RPGs, and to prove it they've released the first trailer for the game along with the official website launch, proving that yes, this game will definitely be on the DS, in all of its ancient graphical glory.

Watch and be ye amazed!

The release date for Blood of Bahamut is current undecided.

Square Enix Announces Blood of Bahamut

These damn flash countdown timers. They're never worth the emotional investment. Even though the bahamut.jp site is still counting down to sometime next week, Jump has gone and spoiled the party with the scoop on the mysterious game, which is indeed the rumored Blood of Bahamut.

The article gives us very little information, but it has been revealed that the DS title is not a remake of Bahamut Lagoon (though it may be connected somehow), and will put a gameplay emphasis on wireless multiplayer.

Blood of Bahamut's protagonist is a young man named Ibuki, and with his childhood friend (and, of course, inevitable love interst) Yui, stand to defend their hometown which lies on the back of an enormous sleeping monster called a Gigant when it awakens for some reason.

Currently, Blood of Bahamut has no confirmed release date.
