So, a little while ago, Famitsu Xbox gave us a run-down of the biggest 30 games of 2008 on the Xbox 360. RPGs fared rather well on the list, with Tales of Vesperia, The Last Remnant, and Infinite Undiscovery securing the top 3 places.
But what about the other consoles? What RPGs did Japan buy for, say, the Nintendo Wii? Famitsu answers those questions in the 2008 Top 20 charts for each console (scan above). Here are the RPGs that ranked in.
Nintendo Wii
13th: Tales of Symphonia: Ratatosk no Kishi - Namco Bandai
PlayStation 3
7th: Shiro Kishi Monogatari: Inishie no Kodou - Level 5, SCEJ
10th: Senjou no Valkyria - Sega
16th: Makai Senki Disgaea 3 - Nippon Ichi
PlayStation 2
1st: Super Robot Taisen Z - Namco Bandai
3rd: Persona 4 - Atlus
10th: Tales of Destiny: Director's Cut - Namco Bandai
14th: Devil Summoner: Kuzunoha Raidou tai Abaddon-Ou - Atlus
19th: Harukanaru Toki no Naka de 4 - Koei
Xbox 360
1st: Tales of Vesperia - Namco Bandai
2nd: The Last Remnant - Square Enix
3rd: Infinite Undiscovery - tri-Ace, Square Enix
8th: Fallout 3 - Bethesda Softworks
12th: Fable II - Lionhead, Microsoft
It seems like a lot of RPGs ranked in across the board. Frankly, however, I'm surprised to see that Rune Factory Frontier didn't rank in on the Wii. Curious...
