RPGs of the Week: Control the Remnants Edition

I hope you all had relaxing weekends, as this week is a tidal wave of new RPG releases guaranteed to suck away any social life you might have once had.

The following RPGs are shipping to retailers in all three major regions this week (November 17-21, 2008):

North America
EverQuest II: The Shadow Odyssey - Sony Online Entertainment - PC
Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods - JoWood - PC
The Last Remnant - Square Enix - Xbox 360
The Lord of the Rings Online: Mines of Moria - Turbine - PC
Luminous Arc 2 - imageepoch, Atlus - Nintendo DS
Neverwinter Nights 2: Storm of Zehir - Obsidian, Atari - PC
Rune Factory 2: A Fantasy Harvest Moon - Neverland, Natsume - Nintendo DS

Japan
Chrono Trigger - Square Enix - Nintendo DS
Dokapon Kingdom (The Best) - Sting - PlayStation 2
The Last Remnant - Square Enix - Xbox 360

Europe
EverQuest II: The Shadow Odyssey - Sony Online Entertainment - PC
Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods - JoWood - PC
The Last Remnant - Square Enix - Xbox 360
Neverwinter Nights 2: Storm of Zehir - Obsidian, Atari - PC
Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia - Hal, Nintendo - Nintendo DS

The biggest title this week is definitely Square Enix's The Last Remnant, debuting on the Xbox 360 across all three regions on the same day (MADNESS!).

PC gamers in North America and Europe have several expansions to choose from for EverQuest II, Gothic 3, and Neverwinter Nights 2.

The DS is back in action this week with Luminous Arc 2 and Rune Factory 2 in North America, more Pokemon for Europe, and the classic Chrono Trigger for Japan.

What's looking sweet to you this week?

All-DS week for me. I'm picking up Luminous Arc 2 and Chrono Trigger. Have them both preordered so I'm getting the Luminous Arc series artbook and the Chrono Trigger arrange CD. Trigger is a Christmas present though, so I don't get to play with it until next month. :)

Whoa, you're getting the Japanese version of Chrono Trigger? That's hardcore, man.

I don't know if I'll get Chrono Trigger period yet. (I already own the SNES and PSX versions, so unless there's some crazy amount of must-play content, I think I've spent enough money on this game).

I'm definitely picking up Last Remnant. I'm still iffy on its battle system, but the story seems like it will interest me. *crosses fingers*

Ha ha, nope, I guess I spaced on the release date for CT-- I thought it was coming out simultaneously worldwide, like Last Remnant. Next time I've got to read the post more closely. :)

Yeah, you had me a little surprised there. I thought you just either couldn't bear to hold out the extra 4 days or were such a purist that you consider English localizations to be a bastardization of the game in question.

Even I'm not that hardcore.

...Well, not usually.
